National Service Scheme (NSS)
NSS Unit of Doomdooma College is a team of 100 energetic volunteers who extend their selfless service to the society as well as to the nation. NSS Unit has a glorious tradition of serving the society. Volunteers construct road, teach school children, give clothes, food items and medicines to footpath dwellers and other needy people, extend their help to the victims of natural calamity and manmade disaster, engage in Swacch Bharat Abhiyan, blood donation, fight against different social evils and drug and other substance abuse. The unit adopts village and works for the development of the village. Volunteers can join the university level, regional level and camps including Republic Day Parade at New Delhi. The NSS Unit of Doomdooma College is led by the Programme Officer Dr. Abdul Jalil Choudhury.
Activities & Achievement
  1. NSS Volunteer Maharshi Kalita participated in Republic Day Parade on 26.01.2022 at New Delhi. He was the only NSS Volunteer (Boy Section) selected from Assam to participate in RDP.
  • Volunteers stood by the Baghjan Oil Fire victims with relief materials on 11.06.2020.
  • Swachhta Abhiyan in the College campus held on 06.12.2020.
  • Volunteers donating winter cloths to footpath dwellers and needy people on 01.01.2022
  • Blood donation by volunteers on 02.06.2022
  • Volunteers donated foodgrains to temporarily uprooted people on 02.08.2022
  • Celebration of Childrens’ Day on at Chellenguri L.P. School on 14.11.2020
  • On 14th August, 2023 the Human Chain with Tiranga day was observed. Three hundred four students participated in the event.
  • On 20th Aug, 2023, Swachhata at nearby places. 62 NSS volunteers participated.
